NYMA Announces Two New Donations to Kick Off the 2022 Season
The Northwest Youth Music Association is pleased to announce receiving a $10,000 King County Festival and Events Grant. This is a result of the cancellation of the Seattle Summer Music Games (SSMG) for the past two years and is funded by federal COVID relief funds to help local arts organizations adversely affected by the pandemic. “We rely on our show to help provide funding to support the Seattle Cascades and provide the community with an outstanding performance of top West Coast drum corps,” said David Haining, NYMA board of directors member and the grant writer. “With a budget of nearly $1,000,000 we are tapping as many sources as possible to provide the corps and our audience with a great experience as we begin to compete again in 2022.”
“We are so glad to assist festivals and events in this way and were amazed at the magnitude and diverse array of festivals and events in King County. Thank you for the work you do to provide these community programs,” stated Rebecca Clark, the King County Executive Office Creative Economy Grants Manager.
We have also begun a partnership with Alaska Airlines, which is generously donating two round-trip tickets worth $2500 anywhere Alaska flies in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica. These tickets will be raffled between now and the SSMG and announced at the event to be held at Renton Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 9. The winner will be announced during the show and the purchaser does not need to be present to win. “We hope to pair these tickets with other enticing raffle items to truly make this a special fundraiser for the corps,” Haining said.
