Announcing the Seattle Cascades 2021 Brass Instructional Staff

We are pleased to announce the expansion of the Seattle Cascades brass instructional staff for 2021. I’m beyond excited about our Brass educators for the 2021 season! This perfect combination of educators come from a wide range of backgrounds that will continue to elevate the brass program.

We are excited to announce the promotions of Michael Alsop to brass caption supervisor and Dr. Bill Waterman to brass caption head. The rest of the 2020 brass staff is returning for 2021, with the additions of Kathryn Blackburn, Carlos Cruz, and Janelle Ewing. They each bring tremendous experience and knowledge of music education and brass pedagogy from a variety of backgrounds.

Chuck Naffier will be stepping down from the brass supervisor role to spend more time with family and focus his attention on the arranging responsibilities for the corps. He will remain an integral part of the Cascades family moving forward as a designer and advisor. We look forward to bringing his musical arrangements to life on the field.
