Audio Lead (A1)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Sound Designer on creative direction of the program

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Caption leads on mixing needs and rehearsal projects

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Audio Technician on shared goals for rehearsals

  • Remotely adjust MainStage settings and sample/patch levels

  • Remotely oversee and adjust mixer settings and master output levels in performances

  • Communicate mixer adjustments to Audio Technician

  • Obtain and manage backups of MainStage files and mixer settings

 

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to audio

  • Flexible and adaptive to programmatic and environmental changes

  • Self-initiates goals and is able to coach and lead both staff and membership

  • Communicates caption needs and status updates to Tour Director / Corps Director(s)

  • Deeply experienced with Yamaha digital consoles (QL/CL/TF)

  • Deeply experienced with MainStage programming

  • Must own and use a personal/business laptop computer for all corps responsibilities (Mac preferred)

  • 21 years or older

 

Audio Technician (A2)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all points of the audio system are fully prepared and functioning

  • Coordinate and deploy the use of wireless microphones

  • Operate mixer scene changes in rehearsals and performances

  • Be the first point-of-contact for membership and ensure performer’s equipment is fully functional

  • Implement mixer adjustments under direction of the Audio Lead

  • Perform software, firmware, and hardware updates on all digital devices in the audio system as needed

  • Repair or replace failed components within the system and/or communicate equipment needs efficiently to Audio Lead

  • Monitor power supplying devices and regularly check wattage usage

 

Requirements

  • Flexible and collaborative in the workplace

  • Deeply experienced with Yamaha digital consoles (QL/CL/TF)

  • Experienced with Shure wireless systems and Wireless Workbench

  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering

  • Basic understanding of networking: wireless network setup, static IP coordination

  • Hands-on maintenance skills including soldering, cable building, cable management, rack installation

  • Experienced with MainStage programming

  • 21 years or older

 

Audio Intern

Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup of mixer, generator, and speakers for rehearsals

  • Assist the Audio Technician in daily diagnostics and maintenance of audio equipment

  • Streamline communication between membership and Audio Technician when needed

  • Manage and upkeep inventory spreadsheet of audio equipment

  • Assist in deployment of wireless equipment (wireless mics, IEMs)

 

Requirements

  • Prior experience in marching arts audio

  • Flexible and collaborative in the workplace

  • Motivated to grow professionally and gain experience

  • Basic knowledge of audio signal flow

  • Hands-on maintenance skills including cable management, rack installation, and power management

  • 18 years or older
